Dairy for Development: Grameen Danone Earns Runner-Up Award for Social Impact Project
Grameen Danone Foods Limited has been recognized as the first runner-up in the “Social Impact Project of the Year (Small)” category at the Bangladesh Project Management Awards 2025, acknowledging its contributions to project management and sustainable development.
The announcement was made through a press release issued on Monday, November 10. The award was presented by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Bangladesh during a ceremony held on November 8 at the Radisson Blu Water Garden in Dhaka.
Grameen Danone received the honor for its Milk for School initiative implemented in Ullapara, Sirajganj, in collaboration with Heifer International Korea and Heifer International Bangladesh.
Under the project, a milk chilling center has been established to ensure fair prices for local women dairy farmers. The collected milk is used to produce a nutritious yogurt called Shokti+, which is distributed free of cost to 2,245 school students.
The initiative is playing a significant role in women’s empowerment, child nutrition, and sustainable livelihood development. It also contributes toward achieving several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Managing Director of Grameen Danone Foods, Mr. Dipesh Nag, said, “This recognition from PMI Bangladesh inspires us further. Through the Milk for School project, we are fulfilling our commitment to building a healthier society through collaboration and innovation.”
Since its inception, PMI Bangladesh Chapter has been recognizing institutions and individuals demonstrating excellence in project management and innovation to foster national development and leadership.
