Sharper Selfies: Apple to Introduce 24MP Front Camera Across iPhone 18 Series
Apple enthusiasts have reason to be optimistic: the upcoming iPhone 18 lineup is expected to feature a significantly improved selfie camera. According to a recent report from U.S. financial firm J.P. Morgan, the iPhone 18 series will include a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, an enhancement over the current 18-megapixel module. The report was highlighted by TechCrunch.
Earlier rumors had suggested that this upgraded camera system would debut with the iPhone 17 lineup. However, development delays have shifted its release to the iPhone 18 series. In addition to the improved camera, the Pro and Pro Max models are reportedly set to receive a smaller hole-punch design and under-display Face ID technology.
Apple’s long-anticipated foldable iPhone model is also expected to incorporate a 24-megapixel camera positioned beneath the display. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17e and iPhone 18e models will continue to feature the existing 12-megapixel camera setup.
According to the report, the iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max are scheduled for release in September next year. The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models, however, are expected to reach the market in the spring of 2027.
