Microsoft Moves Swiftly with Urgent Windows 11 Patch

Microsoft has released an emergency update for Windows 11 after a recent mandatory security update (KB5066835) caused serious system errors for many users.

According to a report by Windows Latest, the update disrupted the “localhost” connection — meaning locally hosted applications could no longer connect to the network. In addition, numerous users reported installation failures and difficulties using peripheral and accessory devices.

Microsoft has stated that it is issuing an “emergency patch” to resolve these problems, applicable to Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2. The company has also advised users not to follow unverified solutions found online, but rather to wait until the official fix is automatically deployed to their systems.

The company further noted that affected users who do not immediately see the update may restart their systems and keep the “Check for Updates” option enabled.
