Telecom Transformation: CUET VC Highlights Expanding Career Opportunities
Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), stated that the telecommunications sector has brought about a profound transformation in communication systems. He noted that the rapid expansion of the sector is being driven by technological advancement and the widespread availability of the internet.
“Keeping pace with the times, telecom companies are no longer limited to communication alone. Their involvement now extends to app design, app architectural design, artificial intelligence, and automation, further strengthening the prospects of this industry,” he said. “That’s why many are now interested in pursuing a career in telecommunications as a smart and promising field.”
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the farewell ceremony for the ETE-19 batch, organized by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE), held on the morning of Sunday, July 13, at CUET’s central auditorium.
Special guests at the event included Professor Dr. Kazi Delowar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at CUET, and Suman Kanti Dash, Area Technology Manager at Grameenphone. The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Zahedul Islam, Head of the ETE Department, while the welcome speech was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Nurshaidul Mamun.
Other speakers included Professor Dr. Md. Azad Hossain and Associate Professor Dr. Saiful Islam of the ETE Department. Representing the outgoing batch, students Nuzhat Mubassira and Md. Nafizul Alam also shared their reflections.
The event was hosted by ETE students Mehrin Binte Alam Shormi from the 20th batch, Tanmoy Dutta from the 21st batch, and Priya Dev from the 22nd batch.
