SpaceX Stakes $2 Billion in xAI as Valuation Soars
SpaceX is investing $2 billion in xAI, the artificial intelligence startup founded by Elon Musk, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, as cited by Reuters.
The report states that this investment is part of xAI’s $5 billion equity round, which has pushed the company’s total valuation to $113 billion.
Following the recent merger of X (formerly Twitter) and xAI, the Grok chatbot has been integrated into Starlink’s support system, with plans underway to incorporate it into Tesla’s Optimus robot in the future.
Responding to a post on X, Musk commented that it would be “great for Tesla to invest in xAI,” but added that such a move would depend on the approval of the company’s board and shareholders.
Neither SpaceX, xAI, nor Tesla has issued an official statement on the matter. Despite ongoing controversy surrounding Grok, Musk has described it as “the world’s most intelligent AI.”
