JUST’s IPE Department Hosts Freshers’ Reception and Farewell Ceremony

The Department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) hosted a vibrant event on Sunday, May 4, to welcome new students and bid farewell to outgoing ones. The ceremony, held at the university’s central gallery, featured flower presentations, honorary mementos, and a discussion session.

JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, he said, "A university is like a mother, and you are her children. If children are not proud of their mother, then who will be? It is the children who must take pride in her. Just as we say, ‘My mother is the best,’ we must also say, ‘My university is the best.’ We must take pride in our university’s current national and international rankings and strive to move forward by maintaining this progress."

Addressing the IPE students, Professor Majid added, "The curriculum of this department is highly relevant to current industry demands, encompassing all industrial sectors. We must develop not only our communication skills but also hands-on technical expertise."

He further announced, "We have already decided that each department will organize at least one national-level seminar annually. These seminars will serve as a bridge between current students, various companies, and alumni," expressing hope for stronger industry-academia connections in the future.
