Instagram Eyes Picture-in-Picture and Enhanced Search Features
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri has acknowledged the need for a picture-in-picture (PiP) feature on the platform. During his recent weekly "Ask Me Anything" session, he admitted, "We should definitely build this feature," which is already available on TikTok and YouTube, The Verge reported.
Once introduced, the PiP feature will allow users to watch Instagram Reels while performing other tasks simultaneously. While no official announcement has been made, it is anticipated that the update will enhance multitasking capabilities on the platform.
Additionally, Instagram is working on improving its search functionality. Mosseri stated that a future update will expand search capabilities beyond just accounts, enabling users to find content more effectively.
