DU Science Unit Admission Test Held Across Eight Cities

As in previous years, the undergraduate admission test for the Science Unit of Dhaka University (DU) was held simultaneously in eight divisional cities on Saturday. The examination for the 2024-25 academic session began at 11:00 AM and continued until 12:30 PM.
In the capital, the Science Faculty admission test was conducted at three centers: Suhrawardy College, Government Kabi Nazrul Islam College, and Mahanagar Mohila College. Several thousand candidates took part in the examination at these centers.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan visited the Curzon Hall examination center at 11:30 AM during the test.
This year, a total of 146,694 applicants vied for 1,896 available seats, resulting in a highly competitive ratio of 77 candidates per seat.
The admission test was conducted over 1 hour and 30 minutes, consisting of both multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and written descriptive questions. The test carried a total of 100 marks, with 60 allocated for MCQs and 40 for the written section. The MCQ segment lasted 45 minutes, followed by another 45 minutes for the written section.
Notably, the Science Unit of Dhaka University includes departments under the Faculties of Science, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Engineering and Technology. Additionally, it encompasses the Institute of Statistical Research and Training, the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, the Institute of Information Technology, the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Education and Research.
