Grocery Giants and Growing Founders: Light of Hope Ventures Visits Chaldal.com
Light of Hope Ventures, accompanied by a group of 20 e-commerce entrepreneurs, toured the operations of Chaldal, the country’s largest online grocery platform. During the visit, representatives from the investment firm observed Chaldal’s modern warehouse facilities, product management system, customer service processes, and logistics network. They also learned about key operational areas such as fundraising, scaling teams, strengthening supply chains, and using data-driven decision-making.
The industrial visit took place on Saturday, 15 November.
Chaldal’s co-founders—Wasim Alim, Tejas Viswanath, and Zia Ashraf—welcomed the visiting entrepreneurs. Besides Chaldal, the trio also jointly operate companies such as Cookups, GoGoBangla, and Chaldal Payments.
Zia Ashraf, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Chaldal, stated, “We must keep creating new things. If you are already associated with a business, learn the best practices from those who are doing well and improve even further. Always uphold honesty and creativity.”
Waliullah Bhuiyan, Founder of Light of Hope Ventures, remarked, “Learning directly from successful companies is extremely important for entrepreneurs. We want to create such opportunities for new founders.”
Participants of the visit gained insights into how to scale and sustain technology-driven businesses. This initiative is part of Light of Hope Ventures’ efforts to strengthen Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem. Earlier, the firm arranged a similar visit to Ten Minute School.
Light of Hope Ventures supports new entrepreneurs across eight key sectors, including agriculture, education, manufacturing, services, and emerging technologies. Through mentorship, investor connections, and market access, the organization has already helped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs.
