Bangladesh-based retail distribution platform PriyoShop has been named to the 2026 Meaningful Business 100 (MB100), a global list recognising organisations and entrepreneurs that combine business growth with positive social impact. The company was recognised for its contributions to two United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Through its technology-driven commerce and embedded finance ecosystem, PriyoShop connects neighbourhood retailers, brands, financial institutions and distribution networks on a single platform. The model is designed to improve efficiency across the retail supply chain while making products and financial services more accessible to small businesses.

Now in its eighth year, the MB100 recognises entrepreneurs and organisations using business to drive positive social change and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. More than 900 nominations were submitted from over 30 countries for the 2026 list. Honourees were selected based on five criteria: equity, impact, innovation, leadership and scalability.

The 2026 cohort brings together entrepreneurs, chief executives, corporate sustainability leaders and impact investors from around the world. The network aims to promote effective and sustainable business initiatives addressing social and environmental challenges.

A key focus of PriyoShop’s operations is simplifying business management for small retailers in Bangladesh. The growth of a neighbourhood grocery shop often depends on access to the right products at the right time, reliable deliveries and working capital when needed. PriyoShop brings these essential services together through a connected platform to make day-to-day retail operations easier.

The company aims to serve more than five million traditional retailers in Bangladesh and expand into other emerging markets with similar potential. Its business model links the company’s own growth with the development of the small businesses it serves.

Commenting on the recognition, Asikul Alam Khan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PriyoShop, said, “From the very beginning, we have believed that solving real challenges in underserved markets can create both economic value and lasting social impact. This recognition reinforces that belief.”

He added, “This is not just an achievement for PriyoShop; it belongs to our team, investors, partners and, most importantly, the retailers who place their trust in us every day.”

Beyond recognition, organisations included in the MB100 gain access to year-round professional support, investment opportunities, potential customers and business partners, capacity-building programmes and a global network of entrepreneurs.

PriyoShop’s inclusion in the list also highlights the growing role of technology-driven entrepreneurship in Bangladesh’s retail sector. It demonstrates how locally developed technology and innovative business models can address challenges in domestic markets while gaining recognition on the international stage.
