Driven by youthful enthusiasm and science-based community development, voluntary blood donation initiatives continue to advance health protection and humanitarian service.

The 29th founding anniversary of 'Badhan', a voluntary blood donors' organization, was celebrated at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) on Friday, November 6, under the slogan 'Call of Twenty-Nine, Save Lives Through Blood Donation'. Jointly organized by the PSTU Badhan Unit and Barishal Zone, the event featured a rally, cake cutting, tree plantation, and a free blood grouping campaign.

Chaired by Badhan PSTU Unit President Md. Nazrul Islam and moderated by General Secretary Naimul Haq Didar, the program was attended by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. M. Hemayet Jahan as the chief guest. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Saiful Islam and founding President of PSTU Badhan Unit Md. Asaduzzaman Asad attended as special guests. Zonal representative Ariful Islam Riyad, executive committee members, and hall volunteers were also present.

As part of the initiative, a free blood grouping drive at the outer campus allowed students and locals to determine their blood types. For 29 years, Badhan has been dedicated to saving lives through voluntary blood donation, building a donor network, and fostering a social movement across educational institutions in Bangladesh.
