Empowering youth in robotics innovation
Robotics workshop featuring block coding held
- Students from grades 4-12 completed seven robotics projects
- Hands-on training provided using Arduino, sensors, and motors
- Guidance shared for International Robot Olympiad preparation
To prepare the younger generation for the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, continuous initiatives are being taken to equip students with skills in robotics, programming, and technology. According to relevant sources, a day-long workshop titled 'Robotics Workshop with Block-Based Coding' was held on Friday, November 6, at the BdOSN office in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
Jointly organized by the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad (BdRO) and the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), the intensive training ran from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Students from grades 4 to 12 participated in teams of four.
During this tech event, students gained hands-on experience by completing 7 robotics projects involving various sensors, motors, and hardware devices. The workshop gave students their first experience with robotics using Arduino, helped them understand how different robotic mechanisms work, allowed them to practically experiment with different robotics modules, and inspired them with early guidance on the Robot Olympiad. It served as an opportunity to learn, explore, and take the first confident step into the world of technology and innovation.
The session was conducted by Mishal Islam, Chief Coordinator and Head Robotics Coach of the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad. In addition, essential guidelines for participating in the International Robot Olympiad were shared, concluding with the distribution of certificates to the participants.
