The 30th U.S. Trade Show 2026 has opened in Dhaka, bringing together American products, services and innovative technologies while creating opportunities to expand trade and investment between Bangladesh and the United States. The three-day event also features seminars and discussions on energy security, healthcare, medical technology, information and communication technology (ICT), digital economy and reciprocal trade.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad, at InterContinental Dhaka on Thursday, November 5. The event will continue until November 7. The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) and the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka jointly organised the trade show.

Abdul Awal Mintoo, Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, attended as the Special Guest, while U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen was the Guest of Honour. AmCham Bangladesh President Syed Mohammad Kamal, senior government officials, diplomats, business leaders and representatives of participating organisations also attended the opening ceremony.

Expanding Trade and Investment Opportunities

Addressing the event, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad said Bangladesh and the United States had built a longstanding relationship through trade, investment and mutual cooperation. Platforms such as the U.S. Trade Show offer valuable opportunities to strengthen business ties and increase engagement between companies from the two countries.

He said Bangladesh remained committed to building a competitive and investment-friendly economy that would create new business opportunities, generate employment and support sustainable economic development.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo said trade and investment were among the key drivers of Bangladesh's economic growth. Greater cooperation with international partners would be essential as the country moved towards a more competitive and sustainable economy.

He said American companies could contribute significantly through advanced technologies, expertise and investment, particularly in improving industrial efficiency, environmental sustainability and long-term economic resilience.

U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen said the United States valued its strong commercial relationship with Bangladesh. He described the trade show as a reflection of the growing opportunities for businesses in both countries.

American companies offer world-class products, services and technologies that can contribute to Bangladesh's economic development, he said. The United States looks forward to expanding commercial partnerships, encouraging investment and further strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

AmCham Bangladesh President Syed Mohammad Kamal said the U.S. Trade Show had served for three decades as an important platform connecting American businesses with the Bangladeshi market. The 30th edition reflected the chamber's continued commitment to expanding bilateral trade, investment and business collaboration.

He said AmCham aimed to create meaningful engagement, encourage new partnerships and contribute to a stronger and more sustainable economic relationship between Bangladesh and the United States.

Technology and the Digital Economy in Focus

The 30th edition features American products, services and technologies from a range of sectors. Visitors and business representatives have opportunities to explore new innovations, exchange ideas and establish business contacts and partnerships.

Alongside the exhibition, a series of seminars and discussions is being held on key economic and business priorities. Topics include energy security, healthcare and medical technology, women's leadership, outbound investment, reciprocal trade, ICT and the digital economy.

The sessions bring together policymakers, industry experts and business leaders to share experiences and explore ways to create new opportunities through technology transfer, investment, skills exchange and business collaboration.

Cooperation in healthcare and medical technology, energy and the digital economy could create opportunities to strengthen Bangladesh's industrial and service-sector capabilities. The event also offers scope for new commercial connections and partnerships between companies in the ICT sector.

For decades, the U.S. Trade Show has served as an important platform for strengthening commercial relations between Bangladesh and the United States, showcasing American businesses and promoting cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.

The 30th U.S. Trade Show 2026 will remain open to visitors at InterContinental Dhaka until November 7.
