Marking the formal entry of undergraduate scholars through floral felicitations, commemorative crest presentations, and cake-cutting ceremonies, the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) hosted its freshers’ reception. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan joined the reception as the Chief Guest, while University Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faruque Hossain attended as Special Guest.

The reception was convened at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, at the gallery of the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Academic Building. The academic and formal proceedings were followed by a vibrant cultural soirée performed by departmental students in the evening.

Addressing the congregation, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan observed that academic excellence at the tertiary level demands an unyielding combination of talent and sustained hard work. Reminding students that rigorous dedication across their four-year undergraduate tenure will define their professional horizons, he emphasized honoring familial sacrifices and upholding parents' pride. Characterizing the BMB department as a premier academic discipline, he urged students to look beyond local boundaries and prepare for global competitive opportunities.

In his remarks as Special Guest, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faruque Hossain inspired the incoming cohort to push past socioeconomic constraints, noting that humble backgrounds must never serve as barriers to ambitious goals. Reminding the cohort that their institutional identity with JUST will endure throughout their professional careers, he called for collaborative efforts between educators and students to establish the university's prestige in global academia.

Presided over by BMB Department Chairman Dr. Md. Alauddin, the plenary was also addressed by Dean of the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Hasan and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Md. Ziaul Amin. Departmental faculty members, research associates, and students were present across the sessions, official sources confirmed. //DBTech/JNH/SME/FOE//
