Penta Global Limited has been recognised as an authorised distributor of Siemens Electronic Design Automation (EDA), opening a new channel for semiconductor design technology, training and technical support in Bangladesh. The partnership is expected to help local engineers and semiconductor companies access advanced design tools and develop capabilities in emerging technologies.

According to a BSS report, the arrangement was announced in a press release on Tuesday. Penta Global has entered into an agreement to provide EDA products, training and technical support to customers of Siemens Industry Software Limited (SISW) in Bangladesh. Siemens confirmed the authorisation through a letter dated 24 September.

EDA tools play an important role across the semiconductor value chain, including chip design, verification and advanced packaging. The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge transfer in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence-driven chip design, three-dimensional integrated circuits (3D-ICs), chiplet-based design and digital twin technology. This could help local semiconductor companies develop their own intellectual property (IP) and products.

Penta Global Managing Director Faisal Zaman said Bangladesh has a strong foundation for semiconductor development, supported by skilled engineers, a growing technology sector, increasing university participation and experienced Bangladeshi professionals working overseas. Connecting these capabilities with advanced technology, infrastructure, investment, international partnerships and global markets could help the country build higher-value capacity in semiconductor design, technology and intellectual property.

Denis Lobzov, partner account manager at Siemens EDA, described the authorisation of Penta Global as a strategic milestone for Siemens’ “Country as a Customer” initiative in Bangladesh. He said the effort links Siemens’ global technological leadership with Bangladesh’s national ambitions, with the aim of building a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem rather than simply entering a market.

Lobzov added that Siemens is committed to empowering local talent with its EDA capabilities to accelerate innovation in AI, 3D-IC and digital twin technologies and help Bangladesh secure a stronger position in the global semiconductor value chain.

As an authorised distributor, Penta Global will serve as a local channel for Siemens EDA technology, training and technical support. The arrangement is intended to connect Bangladesh’s engineering talent and semiconductor industry with global technologies.
