Experts Urge Youth to Innovate Technologies with Ethical and Human Values

The two-day 5th IEEE International Conference on Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (RAAICON 2026) successfully concluded at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST). Jointly organized by the IEEE Bangladesh Section and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Bangladesh Chapter, and hosted by JUST, the closing ceremony was held on Saturday afternoon.
Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of JUST, attended the closing session as the special guest at the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Academic Building gallery. The conference brought together researchers and delegates from 14 countries, including the USA, UK, Australia, France, Singapore, and Malaysia. Over the two days, 32 teams presented their research papers, while 6 keynote speakers delivered technical presentations in a hybrid format.
In his speech, JUST Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan highlighted that robotics, automation, AI, and IoT serve as the driving forces of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He remarked, "To succeed in this tech-driven era, we must empower the young generation with practical skills. We should not remain mere consumers of technology; rather, we must become innovators." He also stressed the importance of upholding human values and ethics to ensure technology consistently serves the public good.
Organizing Chair Prof. Dr. Engr. Imran Khan, General Chair Prof. Dr. Celia Shahnaz, IEEE Bangladesh Section Chair Prof. Dr. Md. Imamul Hasan Bhuiyan, Technical Program Chair Prof. Dr. Sheikh Anwarul Fattah, and Technical Program Co-Chair Prof. Dr. Sheikh Md. Rabiul Islam delivered guidance addresses to the participating students.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to all participants, and top performers were honored with special awards. The event was moderated by Lecturer Anika Anjum (BME Dept.) and Lecturer Zahedul Islam (EEE Dept.), with local and international academics and students in attendance.
