International Security & Safety Expo Underway in Dhaka: Solar Cameras

The three-day 'International Security Expo' marked its second day at the Noborotno Hall of the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, highlighting solar-powered security cameras and modern safety applications to ease electricity grid pressure. Concurrently, the 'International Occupational Safety, Health & Fire Expo Bangladesh 2026' is taking place at the same venue.

A total of 47 organizations are displaying products and solutions from 150 global brands across 10 countries, including China, UAE, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, UK, Australia, and Bangladesh. Major global and local brands such as ICC TCL, Computer City, Smart Technologies, Tipsoi, Zaiko, Z Sydney Sun International, Accote, Dahua, and Hikvision are showcasing state-of-the-art occupational safety, health, fire safety, and surveillance products.

Exhibits and Tech Innovations:

• Key Attractions: Visitors showed strong interest in ICC TCL's PTZ and solar-based TCL cameras, indoor-outdoor surveillance setups, biometric attendance trackers with real-time face and fingerprint recognition, and child safety devices. Smart Technologies showcased a vast range of security solutions across nearly 12 dedicated stalls.

  

• Student Innovation: Alongside industry giants like Dahua and Hikvision, an AI-driven Intelligent Workforce Management and HR Solution developed by a group of young innovators from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) garnered widespread praise.

Madhu Sudan Saha, Managing Director of co-organizer I-Station Limited—which organized the event jointly with Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS)—noted that solar-based security setups and smart monitoring systems have emerged as the central attraction for both exhibitors and attendees in this second edition of the expo.

Key Seminar Insights from Opening Day:

The opening day featured two specialized seminars. The first seminar, titled 'Strengthening Electronic Security in Bangladesh: Challenges, Technology, and Action Plan', was moderated by Zakir Uddin Ahmed, Secretary General of Safety Awareness Foundation, and featured prominent panelists:

Muhammad Monirul Islam (Secretary General, BCS): Emphasized cross-sectoral collaboration among government bodies, academia, and security industries while promoting local innovation alongside international tech partnerships.

Dr. Chowdhury Md. Rakin Haider (Assistant Professor, BUET): Highlighted future possibilities of electronic security through Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and advanced computing.

Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman (Professor, BRAC University): Explored practical integration of robotics, IoT, and smart technologies into national safety systems.

Major (Retd.) A K M Shakil Newaz (Former Director, Fire Service & Civil Defence): Stressed risk evaluation, operational readiness, and coordinated safety structures for emergency response.

Edward Kim (CEO & Founder, Accote Group): Advocated for unified security frameworks connecting IoT, biometrics, smart surveillance, and cybersecurity.

Md. Munirul Alam (CEO, Tipsoi/Innovace Technologies): Discussed field implementations of smart biometric tech and automated IoT-driven security solutions.

The second seminar focused on occupational safety, fire fighting, and emergency alerts for a safer Bangladesh. The expo offers attendees hands-on experience with modern security tools to foster safe, risk-free work environments.
