- Legendary figures Mushtaq Ahmed and Corey Collymore featured in judging panel
Robi Axiata PLC, in partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), has launched the 'Robi Bowler Hunt', a nationwide talent-discovery program aimed at identifying promising male and female fast bowlers and spinners across Bangladesh. The initiative was officially launched on September 15 at the BCB Headquarters located within the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The trial program will commence in Sylhet on September 27 and cover all divisional cities, with Dhaka hosting two trials, bringing the total number of trial locations to nine. Top-performing bowlers selected from divisional phases will proceed to a final development camp in Dhaka. The BCB will then enroll the final cohort into its elite player development and mentoring framework.
Aspiring bowlers can register through the 'My Robi' and 'My Cirkle' applications up until the day before their respective local trials. The expert judging panel features former Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed, former West Indies pacer Corey Collymore, and a cohort of former Bangladesh national team players.
Speaking at the launch, Robi Managing Director and CEO Ziad Shatara emphasized that the initiative reflects Robi's brand belief "Parbe Tumio," creating structured pathways for young athletes. BCB President Tamim Iqbal Khan noted, "Sustained success in Bangladesh cricket depends on unearthing new talent. Robi Bowler Hunt will strengthen our pipeline by discovering bowling talent from every corner of the country."
