Engineering scalable electric mobility, cross-border drone logistics, and technology transfers, Bangladesh's Piton Industries Limited has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oman-based Star Drones (Modern Star Businesses LLC).

The agreement was signed on Monday, September 14, at the lounge of the 'Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026' held at the Novo Theatre in Dhaka. Impressed by the engineering precision and youth-led innovations on display, the Omani delegation formalized this bilateral partnership and foreign direct investment framework.

Piton Industries Limited Managing Director Sheikh Iqbal Zahedi and Modern Star Businesses LLC (Star Drones) Founder and CEO Sayyid Abdul Ghafoor Saif Uddin signed the agreement on behalf of their respective enterprises.

Under the immediate phase of the pact, electric motorbikes will be exported from Bangladesh to power the logistics fleet of Oman's popular food delivery application 'Bees'. The roadmap entails setting up a full-scale assembly manufacturing plant in Oman to satisfy surging demand across the broader Middle Eastern market. Per the technical framework, Oman will assimilate indigenous EV engineering expertise from Bangladesh while deploying reverse-engineering processes to upgrade hardware systems in both territories. Concurrently, Star Drones will fuse its proprietary aerial drone delivery algorithms with Bangladesh's ground EV bikes to establish an automated multimodal supply chain. The partnership will also inject Omani capital and drone avionics into Bangladesh's local industrial ecosystem.

Attending as chief guest, Science and Technology Ministry Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain said, "This innovation expo marks a historic milestone bridging academia, international investors, and domestic technology enterprises. The alliance between Piton Industries and Star Drones directly demonstrates the success of this unified framework, driving high-tech engineering within our green economy."

A spokesperson for Star Drones stated, "The manufacturing precision and technological maturity shown here are remarkable. This is not merely a supply contract; it represents an enduring strategic initiative to project Bangladeshi tech solutions across the Middle East while securing capital investments in Bangladesh."

The event welcomed Deputy Head of Mission and Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Oman Fathiya Binte Ahmed Al Balushi as special guest. Saudi Arabia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SABCCI) President Ashraful Haq Chowdhury, Piton Industries Chairman Shamsul Alam Liton, Deputy Managing Director Ali Asgar Opu, alongside Star Drones CPO Basim Allah Bakhsh Ghulam Al-Zadjali, Executive Assistant Rozan Doulatzadeh, and Mechatronics Engineer Mohammad Fouzan Ammar attended the ceremony.
