Short-form video platform TikTok launched 'TikTok Bazaar', a nationwide capacity-building program engineered to equip small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with advanced digital marketing capabilities.

The program was officially announced on Sunday, September 13. Executed in strategic partnership with IDLC Finance, the initiative aims to train up to 2,500 domestic SMEs through interactive physical workshops, specialized masterclasses, virtual mentorship modules, and continuous digital assistance.

The program helps local business owners scale beyond traditional social selling by using algorithmic video delivery to build audience reach, elevate branding, and unlock domestic and cross-border commercial pipelines. Furthermore, the partnership connects participants directly into a broader digital commerce ecosystem.

TikTok Bazaar addresses critical gaps in the regional online retail landscape. While thousands of independent businesses sell apparel, food, cosmetics, personal care goods, and artisanal handicrafts via social channels, they often lack formal performance marketing training to optimize ad spending and maintain consistent revenue trajectories.

Participating enterprises will master campaign strategy, creative content architecture, business account settings, precision ad targeting, and analytics. Operationally mature merchants will also receive targeted training on cross-border marketing frameworks to tap foreign markets.

"Digital creativity drives modern commercial scalability," said Ferdous Mottakin, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations for South Asia at TikTok. "Collaborating with IDLC allows us to equip local SMEs with the exact toolsets required to translate creative storytelling into measurable market revenue locally and globally."

IDLC Finance Head of SME Adnan Rashid noted, "Digital inclusion is now mandatory for enterprise survival, especially for businesses operating outside central commercial corridors like Dhaka or Chattogram. Bangladesh holds tremendous SME potential, and IDLC remains committed to upskilling entrepreneurs alongside innovative partners like TikTok."

The initiative seeks to establish resilient, digitally proficient businesses that actively expand Bangladesh's share within the modern digital economy.
