NOAKHALI: Vice-Chancellor of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani has been inducted into the apex executive leadership as Co-Convener for the forthcoming General, Science, and Technology (GST) cluster undergraduate admission framework. The central steering committee was constituted based on administrative and academic seniority to oversee computational architectures, logistics, and testing frameworks across 20 participating public universities. The governance determinations were finalized during the inaugural council meeting of cluster vice-chancellors convened at the Dhaka University Club on Friday, September 11, 2026, according to dispatch records filed by campus correspondent Samia Hossain Munia.

The governance leadership was determined through institutional seniority matrices benchmarked against founding years and operational academic launches. Under this institutional rule, Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), founded in 2002 and led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Hemayet Jahan, assumes the role of Convener. Concurrently, NSTU, which initiated academic operations in 2006 under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani, assumes the Co-Convener responsibilities. Subsequent institutional cohorts will progressively assume leadership mandates under this rotational framework in upcoming cycles.

Following the formation of the core executive team, specialized subcommittees focusing on centralized technical system architecture, institutional procurement, and financial administration will be constituted. The administrative body is currently reviewing operational blueprints to expand the central network by integrating three newly authorized tertiary institutions—Bogra University, Thakurgaon University, and Meherpur University—subject to structural approvals from the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Addressing the designation, NSTU Vice-Chancellor and Admission Co-Convener Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani stated that the seniority-based rotation ensures transparency while systematically reducing testing bottlenecks for applicants nationwide. He emphasized that NSTU will prioritize streamlined computational delivery and candidate-friendly procedures. A follow-up executive meeting will be convened shortly to formulate procedural guidelines, finalize system software parameters, and declare the official examination schedules.
