MYMENSINGH: Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is set to demonstrate 36 peer-reviewed scientific projects and technological prototypes at the national technology symposium "Bangladesh Innovation Fair-2026," organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The initiative aims to translate laboratory-tested agronomic engineering and biotechnology systems directly into field-level agrarian applications and industrial supply chains. Administrative delegates verified the deployment details during a joint press briefing on Friday, September 11, 2026.

The exhibition is scheduled to take place at the Novo Theatre compound in Dhaka from Saturday, September 12, through Monday, September 14, 2026. Organized under the theme "Innovate to Market," the event seeks to bridge academic laboratories, state research centres, venture investors, and industrial production pipelines into an integrated innovation ecosystem. This institutional synchronization is intended to accelerate the commercialization of homegrown technologies while steering youth-led applied research toward high-yield knowledge economies.

BAU has secured three dedicated exhibition pavilions to present physical prototypes, scientific posters, and multimedia documentation spanning post-harvest processing systems, veterinary genomics, sustainable aquaculture frameworks, and smart farm machinery. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to inaugurate the event on Saturday, September 12, with BAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Sardar in attendance.

An executive coordination team of seven academic members has been instituted to manage technological assets and facilitate student-researcher engagements. The committee is headed by Professor Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam Bhuiyan, Director of the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES), with Professor Dr. A. K. M. Ahsan Kabir of the Department of Animal Science serving as Member Secretary.

Speaking at the briefing, BAU Student Affairs Advisory Dean Professor Dr. G. M. Mujibar Rahman highlighted that the featured innovations possess practical commercial potential for agricultural cooperatives and farm mechanization ventures. He emphasized that the industrial interactions will offer students practical perspectives on converting lab-bench intellectual property into scalable industrial outputs.

The briefing included remarks by BAU ICT Cell Director Professor Dr. Md. Rostom Ali, Haor and Char Development Institute Director Professor Dr. Md. Shahjahan, Irrigation and Water Management Professor Dr. A. K. M. Adham, Fisheries Technology Professor Dr. Md. Shaheed Reza, Plant Pathology Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahjahan Monjil, Genetics and Plant Breeding Professor Dr. A. B. M. Arif Hasan Khan, Microbiology and Hygiene Professor Dr. Marzia Rahman, and Veterinary Medicine Professor Dr. M. Ariful Islam.

The exposition brings together 73 public and private universities alongside leading commercial banks and corporate enterprises. The three-day schedule encompasses 17 technical sessions, featuring 6 plenary presentations, 6 parallel technology tracks, and 5 structured roundtable deliberations focused on industrial tech scale-up.
