Country’s leading job portal Bdjobs and 'Tarunner July Foundation' have joined hands to create employment opportunities for the injured and currently unemployed fighters of the July 2024 mass uprising.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed on Thursday (July 30) during a press conference held at Karwan Bazar in the capital. Fahim Mashroor, Founder and CEO of Bdjobs, and Md. Sagar Uddin, President of Tarunner July Foundation, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Tailored Training, Workshops, and Featured Visibility
Under this strategic partnership, Bdjobs and Tarunner July will offer tailored technical and vocational training to injured and job-seeking July fighters. To help them navigate the hiring process, career development workshops focusing on professional CV writing and interview techniques will be conducted. Furthermore, candidate profiles will receive dedicated highlighted visibility on the Bdjobs platform to attract prospective employers.

Speaking at the event, Bdjobs CEO Fahim Mashroor highlighted that over 1,400 people were martyred and around 20,000 injured or disabled during the anti-autocracy movement in July-August 2024. "While the government has launched some rehabilitation initiatives, many injured fighters and their families face severe financial hardship. Many lost jobs due to lengthy treatments, while others struggle with physical disabilities," Mashroor noted.

Calls for Collective Responsibility and Overseas Employment
Aamar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) President Mujibur Rahman Manju emphasized the historical magnitude of the movement, stating that political leaders today enjoy political freedom owing to the July uprising. He urged all sectors to step up out of gratitude and urged the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment to facilitate low-cost overseas job opportunities for injured fighters.

Rehana Sultana, an injured victim from Narsingdi, shared her ordeal while holding her child. She recounted being shot during police firing while pregnant in July 2024, presenting her surviving child as living proof of her resilience.

Md. Sagar Uddin, President of Tarunner July Foundation, reaffirmed their commitment to the welfare of the injured, calling this partnership a continuation of ongoing efforts.

The event was moderated by Ahadul Islam, General Secretary of Tarunner July. Key attendees included Member of Parliament and mother of martyr Jabir, Rokeya Begum; Member Secretary of BNP’s Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo Dal, Sajjadul Islam Miraj; and several injured July fighters.
