Walton Begins Exporting Bangladesh-Made Motherboards to the US

Walton has officially begun exporting high-tech Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), commonly known as motherboards, manufactured in Bangladesh to the United States, marking a new milestone for the country’s growing electronics and technology export industry.

The export inauguration ceremony was held on June 18, Thursday at the headquarters of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC in Chandra, Gazipur. The event was formally inaugurated by Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Minister for Science and Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam.

Prime Minister’s Adviser Rehan Asif Asad was also present at the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister described Walton as a symbol of Bangladesh’s industrial and technological capability.

“Walton is truly a remarkable success story. The company has built a modern and world-class manufacturing ecosystem, demonstrating that Bangladesh is capable of producing advanced technology products that meet global standards,” he said.

He added that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarek Rahman, has undertaken several initiatives to support local industries and entrepreneurs. The proposed national budget for FY2026-27 also includes a range of tax and duty benefits aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing and technology-driven businesses.

Following the inauguration, the minister toured Walton’s manufacturing facilities, where company officials briefed him on production processes, quality assurance systems and international marketing activities.

According to Walton, the exported PCBAs will be used in advanced security devices designed for gunshot detection and emergency response systems in the United States.

The motherboards are being imported by Wisconsin-based SAFEPRO Technologies Inc., a technology company known for providing safety and security solutions for educational institutions and public facilities across the United States.

Among others present at the event were Gazipur-1 Member of Parliament Md. Mujibur Rahman, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Managing Director SM Mahbubul Alam, Directors SM Nurul Alam Rezvi and SM Manjurul Alam, along with senior company officials.
