CUET VC Emphasizes Skilled Human Resources as Three-Day Career Fest Concludes
The three-day 'Career Fest-2026' has successfully concluded at CUET. At the closing ceremony, VC Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan urged students to look beyond academic degrees and acquire diverse skills to thrive in the era of AI and 4IR. The fest featured a job fair, technical sessions by Huawei and Robi, and career seminars.
Academic certificates alone do not guarantee success in the modern era; instead, students must equip themselves with innovative and multidimensional skills," remarked Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). He made these remarks as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the three-day 'Career Fest-2026,' organized by the CUET Career Club at the university’s central auditorium on Saturday afternoon, June 13. Noting that the rapid advancement of digital technologies like the Fourth Industrial Revolution, AI, data analytics, and robotics is reshaping the global job market, he emphasized that there is no alternative to creating a skilled workforce to build a 'Smart Bangladesh' and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahammad, former pro-VC of CUET and director of the Institute of Energy Technology, as the special guest. Chaired by CUET Career Club President Dibya Jyoti Ghosh, the program was hosted by EEE department students Abidur Rahman and Tahsin Priti. The grand festival kicked off on day one with a Huawei technical session and job exam. The second day featured the grand opening alongside a technical session by Robi Axiata Limited, the PresentX competition, and dedicated guidance seminars on BCS, corporate careers, and bank job preparation. The final day concluded successfully with a vibrant job fair featuring over 10 companies at the basketball ground, alongside sessions on higher education and corporate soft skills, followed by the concluding remarks and prize distribution.
