Amber IT Launches Free Wi-Fi Zones Nationwide, Targets 500 Hotspots This Year
Amber IT Limited has begun installing free Wi-Fi zones across the country for its customers, alongside its broadband services. The company has set a target to launch a total of 500 Wi-Fi zones nationwide within the current year.
On March 8, Sunday, Amber IT stated that these points will be operated in key and densely populated locations across the country by involving local traders and entrepreneurs. The Wi-Fi points are generally being established in small businesses such as pharmacies, tea stalls, and grocery shops. To facilitate internet usage, coupon cards of different durations have been introduced. Among them, the 5-hour package is priced at 8 taka, the 1-day package at 12 taka, the 7-day package at 66 taka, and the 30-day package at 200 taka.
The service has already been launched at several locations, including Bibir Pukur Par in Barishal, the Jacob Tower area of Char Fasson in Bhola, the rail station in Sreemangal, Shialkol College Road in Sirajganj, and the EPZ Mor in Nilphamari. The company also plans to expand the initiative to 15 more locations within this month and before Eid-ul-Fitr.
Regarding the initiative, Aminul Hakim, Chief Executive Officer of Amber IT Limited, said, “Our goal is to deliver accessible and affordable internet across the country. Through the Wi-Fi Zone initiative, people will be able to use reliable internet easily, and it will also create new opportunities for additional income for local entrepreneurs.” The company expects the initiative to play a significant role in ensuring fast internet connectivity for students, travelers, freelancers, and general users.
Amber IT also said that its existing customers will be able to access free internet service in these zones using their registered mobile numbers. Those who are not customers will also be able to enjoy the service by purchasing coupon cards at a nominal price.
