Bangladesh Railway to Install Electronic Entry Control at Rail Bhaban
Bangladesh Railway has decided to install an electronic entry control system at the stairway entrances of the ground and first floors of Rail Bhaban to restrict access by unauthorized individuals.
The decision was taken at the organization’s monthly operational review meeting held on Monday, February 23. The letter regarding the decision was issued on Thursday, February 26.
According to sources, the meeting, presided over by Director General Md. Afzal Hossain, approved the installation of an “electronic entry system” at the stairway entrances of the ground and first floors of Rail Bhaban. In addition, it was decided that unresolved matters of Bangladesh Railway would be forwarded from the relevant departments to the Ministry of Railways for further action.
The meeting also directed authorities to ensure proper lighting and fan facilities in coaches of night-running trains, strengthen regular maintenance of power cars, and expedite the procurement of necessary spare parts to prevent breakdowns of power cars.
Furthermore, the meeting resolved to continue efforts to improve train punctuality and to take necessary measures regarding the withdrawal of temporary speed restriction orders.
