Global technology hardware giant Gigabyte has unveiled the world’s first motherboard featuring an elegant wooden design, blending aesthetic craftsmanship with high-performance computing. Named the X870E AORUS X3D Wood, the motherboard is being positioned as a unique fusion of premium design and advanced technology.

According to Gigabyte, the use of natural wood textures and warm color tones sets the motherboard apart from conventional tech hardware. The leather-accented touch areas are designed to offer users a comfortable and luxurious tactile experience. The company said the design philosophy focuses on harmonising technology with modern home interiors.

In terms of performance, the motherboard incorporates an advanced thermal management system. Enhanced VRM thermal protection, heat pipes, M.2 thermal guards, and a dedicated PCB thermal plate together improve heat dissipation efficiency by up to 14 percent, ensuring stable performance even during prolonged heavy workloads.

Built on AMD’s Socket AM5 platform, the X870E AORUS X3D Wood supports Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors. With AI-powered X3D Turbo Mode 2.0, users can further boost CPU performance. The motherboard supports DDR5 memory with speeds of up to 9,000 MT/s and features a robust 16+2+2 phase digital VRM power delivery system for efficient and stable power supply.

For graphics, the board includes two PCIe 5.0 slots, enabling dual-GPU configurations. Storage options include four M.2 slots supporting PCIe 5.0/4.0 x4 technology. An eight-layer back-drilled PCB design reduces signal reflection, enhancing system reliability. Connectivity features include dual 5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7 with high-performance antennas, dual USB4 Type-C ports, HDMI output, and multiple display options.

User-friendly features include a pre-installed Wi-Fi driver with Driver BIOS, M.2 EZ-Flex for easier thermal management, Wi-Fi EZ-Plug for quick antenna connection, and M.2 EZ-Latch technology for tool-free storage installation.

Gigabyte said the motherboard represents a shift in high-performance computing, where hardware is no longer just about power but also about aesthetics and lifestyle integration. With growing interest in wooden-themed PC builds, the company expects the product to attract gamers and content creators seeking a premium experience.

Commenting on the launch, Khaja Md Anas Khan, Country Manager of Gigabyte Bangladesh, said the newly unveiled motherboard will be available in the Bangladeshi market very soon. The product will be distributed exclusively through Smart Technologies Limited, the brand’s sole distributor in Bangladesh.
