A views-exchange meeting was held between the Vice-Chancellor of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) and the university’s staff members, with the aim of transforming JUST into a modern and employee-friendly institution. The discussion focused on the existing demands and concerns of employees as well as pathways toward solutions.

The meeting took place on Sunday, November 9, at the Professor Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building, where the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid, met with third- and fourth-class employees. All third- and fourth-class employees of the university were present.

At the beginning of the session, the contributions of employees who had passed away while serving the university since its establishment were remembered with gratitude, followed by a special prayer seeking forgiveness for their departed souls.

Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid attentively listened to the various demands and concerns of the employees and discussed appropriate solutions in accordance with university regulations. He stated that all forms of promotions and upgradations would be implemented in due time without any discrimination. The administration is actively working toward timely processing of all upgradations, and the necessary Upgradation Boards will be organized soon. He also urged everyone to perform their professional duties with sincerity, emphasizing joint efforts in building JUST into a contemporary and progressive institution.

The Vice-Chancellor added that, soon after assuming office, steps were taken to modernize policies relating to teachers, officers, and employees as per the JUST Act 2001. Initiatives have also been undertaken to reorganize selection boards for teachers, officers, and staff to streamline recruitment and upgradation processes. He noted that the administration is working simultaneously on recruitment, promotions, academic activities, research, and other institutional matters. However, he cautioned that a “malicious and self-interested group” is attempting to hold back the institution for their own narrow interests. He called upon the JUST staff community to stand together against such efforts and protect the progress of the university.

The meeting was attended by Registrar Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib, Deputy Registrar (Academic) Nityananda Pal, Assistant Registrar (General Administration) Md. Mahmudunnabi, along with all participating employees of the university.
