To offer a more connected experience for travel enthusiasts, Airbnb is rolling out major updates to its app. The new features will allow users to meet and interact with fellow travelers participating in the same experiences or activities, TechCrunch reports.

Previously, through the “Airbnb Experiences” feature, users could book activities such as cooking classes or guided tours. Now, participants will be able to see who else is joining an event, which countries they come from, and—if they wish—share photos or discuss future travel plans with them. A new “Connections” tab will be added to user profiles to support these interactions.

In consideration of privacy, users will have control over which details—such as their profile photo, name, or country—are shared during booking. Anyone feeling uncomfortable can block or report other users at any time, as well as delete existing connections.

Airbnb has also introduced a significant update to its search system. A new carousel feature will now display listings that might be slightly outside a user’s budget or filters but could still appeal to them. The map-based view has also been enhanced to show nearby attractions, restaurants, and points of interest.

Finally, Airbnb is expanding its AI-powered customer support assistant beyond the United States to Mexico and Canada, offering services in English, Spanish, and French. The assistant now provides more personalized support, helping users take quicker actions such as modifying or canceling bookings.
