A ‘Youth Anti-Drug Assembly’ was held demanding science-based initiatives to combat drug abuse. The program took place on Saturday, August 23, at 1:00 PM at the foot of Aparajeyo Bangla on the Dhaka University campus, organized by the Ahsania Mission Youth Forum for Health and Wellbeing.

According to a press release issued by Tarikul Islam, Communication Officer of Dhaka Ahsania Mission’s Health Sector, the Global Youth Declaration on Prevention, Treatment and Recovery-2025 was presented at the gathering by Forum Coordinator Marjana Muntaha. The declaration reflects the experiences and opinions of youth from around the world.

Youth leader Abu Faiz stated, “We do not believe in anti-drug slogans alone, we want practical and effective measures that will save young lives.”

Student Faisal Hossain remarked, “To remain free from drugs, we need compassionate treatment, science-based prevention, and a tolerant society built on everyone’s participation.”

Youth activist Mathri San added, “The solution to drug problems cannot be based on emotions, it must come through research-driven and effective initiatives.”

Students participating in the assembly called for the adoption of science-based prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation programs.

The organizers expressed hope that Bangladeshi youth would unite with the global youth community to advance science-based, humane, and inclusive initiatives for drug prevention and treatment.
