Messages Made Manageable: Google Grants Global Unsend
Android’s native messaging app, Google Messages, has finally rolled out the long-awaited “unsend” feature. The update allows users to delete mistakenly sent messages not only from their own device but also from the recipient’s device, reports GSM Arena.
This capability has been made possible through the RCS (Rich Communication Services) protocol. Previously, messages could only be removed from one’s own screen. Now, by selecting the “Delete for Everyone” option, the message will be erased from both sides. Users can also choose “Delete for Me” to remove messages solely from their own device.
Although the feature was hinted at in code a few months ago, Google has now officially made it available to all users.
While similar functionality has long been offered by popular apps like WhatsApp and Telegram, this update is considered a significant enhancement for Google Messages users.
