Nodes Digital Ltd Gets Netherlands Innovation Grant for Smart Irrigation
Bangladeshi agri-tech startup Nodes Digital limited has received an innovation grant of €40,000 under the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF), supported by the Government of the Netherlands. The grant recognizes the company’s IoT-based soil and water monitoring technology.
Nazmus Sakir Akib, co-founder of Nodes Digital limited, received the commemorative grant token from André Karstens, Head of Mission at the Netherlands Embassy in Dhaka.
Speaking to the media on August 7, Nazmus Sakir Akib, who was also present at the event, said, “With this grant, Nods Digital will expand its pilot project, enhance its AI models, and provide training on smart agriculture practices to farmers—contributing significantly to food security and sustainable agriculture in Bangladesh.”
“Our goal is to deliver affordable and intelligent irrigation solutions to Bangladeshi farmers. This grant will help us scale our technology, boosting productivity while conserving water,” he added.
Nodes Digital limited was one of 16 startups selected in the second cohort of Orange Corners Bangladesh. Its smart irrigation system uses IoT sensors and AI analytics to monitor soil and weather conditions in real time. This innovation reduces water usage by up to 30% and saves approximately 3,000–5,000 liters of water per kilogram of rice produced.
