Global new-energy vehicle manufacturer BYD has been named ‘Global Brand of the Year’ in the Automobiles category at the 2026–2027 World Branding Awards. The company received the recognition in the Global Tier at a ceremony held at Hampton Court Palace in London, marking another milestone in its international brand presence across more than 120 countries and regions.
Organised by the World Branding Forum, the awards assess nominated brands through brand valuation, consumer market research and public online voting. To qualify for the Global Tier, a brand must operate in at least 10 countries across three or more continents. The recognition reflects BYD’s international presence and its position beyond any single national market.
Commenting on the achievement, Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, said, “We are honored to receive this global recognition. For BYD, building a brand means earning the trust of our customers through technology that makes a meaningful difference in their everyday lives. This award encourages us to continue innovating and working with our partners around the world to make sustainable mobility accessible to more people.”
Highlighting the significance of the recognition for Bangladesh, Imtiaz Nawsher, Chief Marketing Officer of BYD Bangladesh, said, “This global recognition reinforces our commitment to bringing world-class New Energy mobility and sustainable innovation to drivers right here in Bangladesh. It reassures our local customers that they are choosing a brand trusted by millions across the globe.”
BYD currently operates in more than 120 countries and regions, including Bangladesh. The company continues to expand its new-energy vehicle portfolio while pursuing its vision to “Cool the Earth by 1°C”.
BYD Bangladesh is also working to advance this goal locally. As part of its efforts, the company recently organised a month-long ‘Green Drive’ campaign.
