Dr. Mohammad Ali Hossain Joins JSTE University

Professor Dr. Mohammad Ali Hossain of the Department of Plant Pathology at Bangladesh Agricultural University has joined Jamalpur Science and Technology University (JSTE University) as its Treasurer. With extensive experience in research and higher education administration, he said he would work to ensure transparency, accountability and dynamism in the university’s financial and administrative activities while contributing to its overall development.

He joined his new workplace on the morning of 23 September 2026, Wednesday. He was appointed Treasurer of JSTE University on 21 September. Dr. Mohammad Ali Hossain is the university’s second Treasurer.

After joining, Dr. Mohammad Ali Hossain said he would sincerely work to ensure transparency, accountability and dynamism in the university’s financial and administrative activities, alongside its overall development. He sought cooperation from the university’s teachers, students, officers and employees in carrying out his responsibilities.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Ali Hossain was born in Dasar, Kalkini, Madaripur. He completed his PhD from Justus Liebig University in Germany and a postdoctoral degree under a DAAD scholarship.

He has travelled to Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria and France for international seminars, symposiums, training programmes and research support activities.

Before joining JSTE University as Treasurer, he served as Associate Director of the Research System at Bangladesh Agricultural University. He also served as Director of the Professor Golam Ali Fakir Seed Pathology Centre at BAU and as Associate Director of the Institute of Haor and Char Development.

From 2016 to 2018, he served as Head of the Department of Plant Pathology and House Tutor of Maulana Bhashani Hall at Bangladesh Agricultural University. He currently serves as Secretary for Education and Research of the German University Alumni Association of Bangladesh.
