The Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB), a professional organisation of technology journalists in Bangladesh, held its biennial general meeting on Saturday, approving the organisation’s activities and financial accounts for the 2023–24 term and the extended 2025 term.

The meeting was held on 19 September 2026 at the 71 Auditorium of Daffodil Tower in Sukrabad, Dhaka.

Outgoing General Secretary Mursalin Haque Zonaid presented a report on TMGB’s organisational activities, while Treasurer Mahadi Hasan Shimul presented the financial statement. Both reports were unanimously approved by the general members.

The meeting also approved a proposal to reduce the size of the TMGB Executive Committee from 11 members to nine to make the organisation’s activities more dynamic, efficient and better organised.

General members and members of the Board of Trustees shared their views on various organisational matters. Outgoing President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin, Vice Presidents Moidul Islam and Kumar Bishwajit Roy, General Secretary Mursalin Haque Zonaid, Treasurer Mahadi Hasan Shimul, Organising Secretary Md. Golam Dustogir Touhid and Publication Secretary Naznin Akter Lucky also spoke at the meeting.

The meeting discussed preparations for electing the new Executive Committee for the 2026–28 term. October has been tentatively set as the timeframe for holding the election.

Hasan Hafiz, President of the National Press Club, was announced as the Chief Election Commissioner. The other two members of the Election Commission are Tanvir Ibrahim, President of the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), and S M Afsarul Islam (Sumon Afsar), a member of the TMGB Board of Trustees.
