Modernizing academic operations through unified digital identities, secured electronic credentials, and cashless micropayments, the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) has launched the 'UAP OneCard'.

The smart campus ecosystem was officially unveiled on Monday, September 14, at the university auditorium on Green Road, Dhaka. Deployed as part of UAP's 30th anniversary milestones, the digital architecture was engineered in technical partnership with tech enterprise DGe Infotech Limited.

The platform combines a multi-application physical smart card with four dedicated software modules: the OneID App, DGePay App, DGePay Merchant App, and OneCard Vault. The integrated architecture centralizes authentication, student life-cycle management, and mobile financial services for faculty and students.

The OneID App enables digital verification and credential issuance, while the DGePay client handles peer-to-merchant point-of-sale transactions and account settlements via dynamic QR scanning. Additionally, the OneCard Vault provides cryptographically secured storage for verified transcripts, certificates, enrollment validations, and identification tokens. Initial rollout spans automated attendance logging, integrated library services, cafeteria payments, and digital access control, with future scaling planned for broader campus amenities.

Attending as chief guest, Public Administration Ministry Adviser to the Prime Minister Md. Ismail Zabiullah commended the initiative as an advanced model for higher education digitalization, urging institutional administrations to adopt secure, student-centric technological workflows.

UAP Board of Trustees Chairman K. M. Mojibul Hoque characterized the deployment as an operational milestone building a digitally connected university environment.

Presiding over the ceremony, UAP Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan noted, "OneCard merges identification, payments, and document validation into a single framework, streamlining daily administrative tasks." DGe Infotech Limited Managing Director and CEO Rashed Mahmud detailed the software engineering, transaction security layers, and future API expansion pipelines during an interactive technical Q&A session with students.
