Three Bangladeshi student teams have taken the spotlight at the International Innovation Idea Competition 2025, held at Busan International College under Tongmyong University, South Korea. Competing against international peers, the teams from Bangladesh emerged as champion and runners-up, sweeping the top accolades.

The competition took place on May 22, where the teams first advanced from among 17 participants to make it to the final round of seven. On May 26, the final results revealed that the top three positions were all claimed by Bangladeshi teams, surpassing contestants from countries such as Nepal, Uzbekistan, and several African nations. On May 27, Professor Byung Ik Jung of Busan International College, also the event’s organizer, handed over the awards to the winners.

The champion team, Nexus, comprised first-year Bangladeshi students who have only been in Korea for three months. The team members include Nahid Hasan (Team Representative), a student in Culture and Design Management; Al Amin, studying Global Business; and Solaiman Sagar from Tech Management and Innovation.

Explaining their winning concept to DigiBanglaTech.news, Nahid Hasan said, “Many international students in South Korea face a job crisis because they don’t know the Korean language. That’s why we showcased a demo of an app called ‘Jobayo’. This app helps students find jobs based on their language proficiency. Through the app, users can easily search and share job opportunities and even earn rewards. For instance, if someone posts a job on the app, they get 80% of the revenue, while the app developers receive 20%. The platform offers options for part-time, full-time, internships, and even small business ventures.”

Overwhelmed by the achievement, Nahid Hasan added, “First of all, I thank my beloved Allah. Alhamdulillah. This achievement is not just a personal success—it is for our beloved country, Bangladesh. The most joyous part is that all three finalist teams in this competition were Bangladeshi, which is a tremendous source of pride for us. We ask for prayers from everyone in our country so that we can represent Bangladesh on even larger global platforms in the future. We hope you will cover our achievement so that Bangladeshi students studying abroad are inspired, and Bangladesh reaches new heights on the international map.”

On May 27, the official Facebook page of Busan International College published photos of the winners. The results showed that the other two winning teams from Bangladesh were Evergreen and Synapse Squad.

Team Evergreen consisted of Rifat Ishtiaq Ahmad, Iqbal Omair Bin, and Rifat Zahid Hasan—all students of Global Business. Team Synapse Squad included Zaman Ibn Faiyez from Mechatronics Engineering, and Abdul Qayyum, Tuhin Md. Faizul Islam, and Shimul Md. Kabir Hossain Majumder from the Information Systems and Security department.

This remarkable accomplishment highlights the growing presence and potential of Bangladeshi students in international academic and innovation arenas.
