Bangladesh–China Deepen Dialogue on Connectivity, Trade and Strategic Cooperation

Bangladesh and China have discussed expanding cooperation in connectivity, trade, investment, multilateral platforms, and regional issues. Both sides also reaffirmed their long-standing friendly relations during a high-level meeting.

The discussions were held during a meeting in Beijing between Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and Liu Haijing, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the long-standing relationship between Bangladesh and China. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening connectivity, increasing trade and investment, enhancing multilateral cooperation, and exchanging views on issues of mutual regional interest.

Dr. Khalilur Rahman highlighted the vision of Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to build a connected, economically vibrant, and globally engaged Bangladesh.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the “One China Policy” and also expressed readiness to further deepen bilateral cooperation across various strategic sectors.
