Global music streaming platform Spotify has now entered the fitness domain, partnering with the globally renowned exercise company Peloton to integrate “guided workouts” and Peloton classes directly within its app.

This information was reported on Monday (27 April) by Engadget.

What features are included?

Through Spotify’s new fitness feature, users will gain access to several benefits:

  • Extensive Class Library: Spotify Premium subscribers will be able to access a library of more than 1,400 workout classes from Peloton directly within the app.
  • Curated Playlists: Special playlists organized under the fitness category will be available to both Premium and free users.
  • Multi-Device Flexibility: Users can start a workout by watching video on a TV and seamlessly switch mid-session to an audio-only version on their phone or smart speaker.
  • Offline Downloads: Classes can be downloaded for use without an internet connection.

Why this initiative?

According to Spotify’s internal data, nearly 70 percent of its Premium subscribers engage in regular exercise each month. Additionally, there is significant demand among users for fitness and workout-related content. As part of its broader ambition to evolve into an “all-in-one” app, Spotify is expanding beyond music to include features such as book purchasing, group chat, and now fitness services.

Currently, these classes are primarily available in English, with a limited number offered in Spanish and German.
