Advisor Allocation Announced for New Cabinet
In Prime Minister Tarek Rahman’s new government, eight out of ten advisors appointed at ministerial and state-ministerial ranks have been assigned their respective departments, while Humayun Kabir and Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman are yet to receive department allocations.
On Friday, 20 February, the Cabinet Division issued a notification assigning responsibilities to the eight advisors. Previously, on Tuesday, 17 February, all ten advisors had been formally appointed.
According to the notification, minister-rank advisors Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed have been designated as Political Advisors.
Additionally, Md. Ismail Jabiullah has been assigned to the Ministry of Public Administration, and Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir to the Ministry of Finance.
Among the state-minister-rank advisors, Brigadier General (Retd.) Shamsul Islam has been assigned to the Ministry of Defence. Mahdi Amin will oversee the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Furthermore, Rehan Asif Asad has been given responsibilities for the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
However, among the state-minister-rank advisors, Humayun Kabir and Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman have not yet been assigned to any department.
