Prime Minister's Office Website, Facebook Page and Instagram are Live
After a long hiatus, the official website of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) of Bangladesh, which had been inactive since the interim government took office following the July coup, has been relaunched. Following the commencement of the thirteenth parliamentary government led by BNP Chairman Tareq Rahman, the PMO's official Facebook page and Instagram account have been launched, alongside the website, on 18 February to connect civil society virtually and directly with the government's activities.
The new website provides access to official information related to the Prime Minister's Office, as well as the Prime Minister's speeches, statements and messages in national and international contexts, and a photo gallery with images of the government's development activities. The homepage, featuring a photograph of Prime Minister Tareq Rahman, also has a notice board with information on recent activities of the Prime Minister's Office.
Although relaunched after a long period, as of Thursday, 19 February, in the afternoon, the Prime Minister's Office website had not yet updated important content, including the Prime Minister's biography.
According to the website information, the Prime Minister's biography section was last updated on Tuesday, 17 February, at 12:41 PM. The website footer lists the Cabinet Division, a2i, BCC, DoICT, and BASIS as being involved in planning and implementation. A2i, the Cabinet Division, the ICT Division and UNDP are credited with providing technical support.
The official Facebook page of the Prime Minister's Office was officially launched on the first working day of the new government, i.e. yesterday, Wednesday. At the same time, the official Instagram account of the Prime Minister's Office was also launched. These digital platforms are being used to deliver all types of official updates, policy decisions and development news from the new government led by Prime Minister Tareq Rahman directly to the public. Prior to this, the interim government's Facebook page was deactivated from Wednesday afternoon.
