The Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) has announced plans to train 10,000 young people across the country by 2028 through 15 training centers. Under the initiative, at least 65 percent of the trained participants will be ensured employment, while a minimum of 30 percent of the total trainees will be women.

To implement the initiative, BACCO has signed an agreement with the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP), which operates under Bangladesh’s Ministry of Finance. The agreement was signed on behalf of SICIP by its Executive Programme Director and Additional Secretary Mohammad Walid Hossain, and on behalf of BACCO by its President Tanvir Ibrahim.

Also present at the signing ceremony were Mainul Hasan, DPD of SICIP; Bhuiyan Mohammad Rezaur Rahman Siddique, APD of SICIP; and from BACCO’s Executive Committee—General Secretary Faisal Alim, Vice President Md Tanzirul Basar, Treasurer Md Aminul Haque, Director Saima Shawkat, and Executive Director of the BACCO Secretariat Lt Colonel (retd) Md Mahtabul Haque.

According to the organisers, the project will offer eight specialised courses aimed at helping participants acquire market-oriented and employment-ready skills, thereby strengthening the country’s outsourcing and contact center workforce.
