Xiaomi Experiments with Fan-Cooled Smartphone
As smartphones equipped with active cooling fans gain popularity in China’s mobile market, Xiaomi is reportedly set to follow the same path. According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Xiaomi is currently working on a new smartphone featuring a built-in cooling fan. The information was reported by GSMArena.
The report says the upcoming device will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor. It is expected to feature a display with “1.5K” resolution and an extremely high refresh rate, although the exact figure has not yet been disclosed.
The cooling fan will reportedly be integrated into the camera island of the phone, helping to manage heat during high-performance tasks.
Notably, despite the inclusion of a built-in fan, the device is claimed to come with an IP68 rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water.
Speculation suggests that the handset could be the upcoming Redmi K90 Ultra. Previous rumors indicate that the device may feature a 6.8-inch LTPS OLED display, a 165Hz refresh rate, a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a battery with a capacity of at least 8,000mAh.
This new cooling technology could make Xiaomi’s smartphones more appealing to gamers and users who demand sustained high performance from their devices.
