GUB Hosts Two-Day International Conference on Sustainable Technologies and Industry 5.0

The two-day 7th IEEE STI—Sustainable Technologies for Industry (STI-2025) 5.0 International Conference has concluded at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) in Purbachal, Dhaka. The event began on Thursday and wrapped up with a closing ceremony held at 5:45 PM on Friday at the university auditorium.

Professor Dr. M. Saidur Rahman, Member of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Sharif Uddin, Vice Chancellor of Green University and patron of the conference. Special guests included Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section; Professor Dr. Khaja Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GUB; and Professor Dr. K. M. Azharul Hasan, Chair of IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter. The conference was conducted by Organizing Secretary and Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Azad.

This year's theme was “Technological Revolution in the AI Era and the Fear of Joblessness.”

In his remarks, Chief Guest Professor Dr. M. Saidur Rahman said, “STI-2025 has shown us that sustainable industrialization is possible when technology and the environment advance together. The research presented here will guide the future of the industrial sector.”

In his concluding address, GUB Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Sharif Uddin said, “This international platform will open new possibilities for tackling the challenges of global Industry 5.0 through research, innovation, and collaboration. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all participants.”

Professor Dr. A. S. M. Shihab Uddin of GUB’s EEE Department reported that this year's conference featured seven keynote sessions, three workshops, one panel discussion, and 24 technical sessions. A total of 434 research papers were submitted, of which 118 were selected for presentation. The best-selected papers will be published in IEEE Xplore and Scopus-indexed journals.

With participation from distinguished academics, researchers, industry experts, and institutional representatives from home and abroad, the international conference at Green University of Bangladesh concluded successfully after two days of insightful discussions.
