CUET Launches Three-Day ‘CSE Fest 2025’ with Rally, Competitions and Tech Events
The three-day “CSE Fest 2025” began at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on Thursday, 11 December. Faculty members and students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) joined a festive rally in the morning, shaking off the winter chill. The inauguration formally commenced with a cake-cutting ceremony.
To mark the occasion, CUET’s central auditorium is hosting an Inter-University Programming Contest, National Datathon, Micro-Ops Hackathon, Technical Talks, Seminars, and a Job Fair.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan said that development in the modern world is unthinkable without technology. He noted that computer engineers would be a major driving force in future development journeys.
“We are living in a time when technology is not just a sector but the driving force of all human civilization. At the center of this transformation lies computer science,” he said. Software, data, and algorithms have become inseparable parts of modern education, healthcare, agriculture, business, communication, entertainment, and more. Artificial intelligence, he added, is making human decision-making stronger and faster than ever.
Special guests at the opening ceremony included Professor Dr Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering; Engineer Manzar-e-Khurshed Alam, President of the Chattogram Centre of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh; and Mr Arafat Hossain, Full-Stack Tech Lead at Delineate.
