Nvidia Notes “Strong Demand” for New Blackwell Chips
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has stated that the company is experiencing “extremely strong demand” for its next-generation Blackwell chips. He made the remarks on Saturday in Hsinchu, Taiwan, during an event organized by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), according to Reuters.
Huang said, “We do not only manufacture graphics processing units, but also CPUs, networking products, switches, and many other chips related to Blackwell.”
TSMC CEO C.C. Wei noted that Nvidia has requested a substantial volume of chip wafers, though he did not disclose the exact quantity, citing confidentiality.
In October, Nvidia made history as the first company to reach a market valuation of USD 5 trillion. Wei humorously referred to Huang as “the five-trillion-dollar man” during the event.
Huang further remarked that Nvidia has already received state-of-the-art memory chips from SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron. However, he clarified that there are currently no discussions underway regarding the sale of Blackwell chips in China.
