Cook Continuity: CEO Change Clarified
Rumors recently spread in the tech world that Apple’s CEO Tim Cook will retire next year. The speculation suggested that John Ternus, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, could succeed him. The news was reported by The Verge.
However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman directly dismissed this claim. According to him, while Apple is planning for future leadership transitions, the likelihood of Tim Cook retiring in 2026 is extremely low.
Gurman stated that although Ternus is a potential successor as part of the company’s long-term planning, the time for a leadership change has not yet arrived.
He further emphasized that, barring any unexpected circumstances, Tim Cook will not be stepping down from the CEO position anytime soon.
