Apple Watch Widens WhatsApp Watch Wearability
After much anticipation, WhatsApp has finally launched its dedicated app for the Apple Watch. Users can now read messages, send voice replies, and view call notifications directly from the smartwatch without needing to have their iPhone at hand, according to TechCrunch.
WhatsApp stated that this new Apple Watch version will make message exchange “more convenient and seamless for users.” From the watch interface, users can respond to messages, read long texts, and view stickers and images with improved clarity.
The Meta-owned messaging platform also confirmed that all conversations and calls will continue to be protected with end-to-end encryption, as before. Additional features are planned for future updates.
The app is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later models running watchOS 10 or newer.
In May, WhatsApp also released a dedicated app for iPad, offering support for video and audio calls with up to 32 participants and screen-sharing features.
