Tecno Bangladesh Unveils AI-Powered Pova 5G Series at Affordable Price Point
With the launch of limited-scale commercial 5G services in the country, Tecno Bangladesh has introduced its AI-powered Pova series smartphones in three models, all within a budget range of Tk 35,000. The unveiling ceremony took place on Tuesday, September 30, at the brand’s outlet in Center Point Shopping Mall, Uttara, Dhaka.
Upon first impressions, the new handsets appear slim and lightweight, carrying a design inspired by premium iPhones. One of the models is capable of detecting the user’s mood through artificial intelligence, while Tecno’s proprietary HiOS interface has been given a unique touch to enhance user experience.
Highlighting the key features of the newly launched devices, Rezwanul Haque, Chief Executive Officer of iSmartu Technology Bangladesh—the local distributor of Tecno—stated: “All three handsets are assembled in Bangladesh. There are already 11 million Pova users worldwide. To accelerate 5G penetration in Bangladesh, we have brought the phones within an affordable price range.”
The three models are priced competitively: the Pova Slim 5G at Tk 29,999, the Pova Curve 5G at Tk 32,999, and the Pova 7 Pro 5G at Tk 34,999. Customers purchasing any of these devices will receive a magnetic wireless power bank as a complimentary gift.
According to Rezwanul Haque, currently only 10 percent of mobile users in Bangladesh own 5G-enabled phones. “This offer aims to increase the share to 15 percent within a short time,” he said, adding that buyers can also avail of nine-month installment facilities.
Responding to queries at the event, it was informed that the devices come with IPS64 certification, offering water resistance. However, it was also clarified that such capability gradually diminishes with time or after servicing. “It is not accurate to call the phone 100 percent waterproof,” the organizers explained.
